The department passed independent accreditation in 2019

The Department of Oriental Studies was established in 2016. The teaching staff of the department was formed mainly from highly professional specialists with academic degrees and academic degrees, as well as from the number of practical workers and graduates of the university.

The staff of the department conducts educational, teaching, research and educational work. The teaching staff of the department actively participates in conferences, seminars, round tables of an international, republican, interuniversity nature. The educational activity of the department in the direction of preparation of «Oriental studies» is carried out on the basis of the State educational standards of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Graduates receive two diplomas of the state standard of the Kyrgyz Republic and the European standard. The Department of Oriental Studies produces in the direction of training 530900 KR Oriental Studies (undergraduate level) profiles:

Educational and methodical work

At our department, quite a lot of work is being done on the methodology of conducting classes and individual work, consultations with students, and provides training for qualified specialists in the field of “Oriental studies”.

For students, teaching is conducted in Russian. Each year, the department staff revises and updates teaching materials, tests, tasks for practical exercises, lectures for students.

A modular point-rating system for assessing students’ knowledge has been introduced into the educational process. For this, questions, tickets and tests of various difficulty levels have been developed. Exams are taken according to the list of questions, which should cover all the material passed by the studied subject.

The main educational task of the department is the training of specialists in disciplines, ensuring the formation of professional competencies of future translators studying under the specialist training program.

Chinese language — students are taught a basic practical Chinese language course, which includes aspects such as phonetics, grammar, hieroglyphics, listening, spoken language, are laidbasics of working with Chinese texts of a socio-political nature, including reading and translating original materials from the PRC press and various reference publications.

Native speakers — teachers from leading Chinese universities, are regularly invited to the department. Graduates of MUKR with knowledge of Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages ​​successfully work in structural divisions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and in various state structures and largest companies.

Japanese language training at the department is carried out using effective domestic and foreign methods, textbooks, as well as scientific papers and original manuals. In the learning process, much attention is paid to the development of competent written and oral speech, necessary for communication at the household and professional level, the formation of translation, annotation and abstracting skills. In the classroom, audiovisual facilities are used, including unique video materials.

The department is engaged in language training of personnel in humanitarian knowledge, language, interpersonal and intercultural communication, education, culture and management.

The main task of the Department of Oriental Studies is the training of specialists with knowledge of foreign languages:

The first main foreign language is one of the eastern languages ​​(Chinese, Korean, and Japanese), the second studied foreign language is English;

Employees of the department define the mission of the department as the creation of conditions and the fulfillment of strategic tasks for the preparation of competitively capable personalities that meet the modern needs of the modern community. The teaching materials taught at the Department of Foreign Languages ​​are compiled in such a way that they make it possible to master not only foreign languages, but also the state system, history, culture and traditions of the countries of the language being studied.
